This unit offers both audible and visual alerts, warning users of lightning up to 40 miles away. The 8 x 10 inch LED cluster flashes corresponding colors for certain each distance of the strikes. P5-3 Portable Lightning Detector
The SkyScan Model P5-3 lightning detector is the newest high technology weather monitoring product available anywhere in the world. It is a hand-held instrument with an electronic system to detect the presence of lightning/thunderstorm activity occurring within 40 miles of your location. It uses patented technology (Full digital microprocessor insuring accuracy and reliability) to determine the distance to the detected stroke. The distances are indicated in four ranges: 0-3 miles (0-5 km), 3-8 miles (5-13 km), 8-20 miles (13-32 km) and 20-40 miles (32-64 km).
Since this SkyScan lightning detector allows you to know the level of activity of the storm, it determines if it is moving towards, away or parallel to your position. Each time the SkyScan P5-3 portable lightning detector detects a lightning stroke, it emits an audible warning tone (if this feature has been turned on by the user) and lights the Range Indicator column. The full column stays lit for approximately 3 seconds. This feature allows you to see the distance to the last, closest, detected stroke without waiting for the SkyScan detector to detect a new stroke.

Solid state, electrical resistance type sensor provides accurate readings from 0 to 200 centibars, covering the entire soil moisture range required in irrigated agriculture! In operation, soil moisture is constantly being absorbed or released from sensor. As soil dries out, sensor moisture is reduced and electrical resistance between electrodes is increased. Resistance is read by the hand-held WATERMARK digital meter (sold separately) which gives a digital readout in centibars of soil water suction. Digital meter features soil temperature compensation which adjusts for the effect soil temperature has on electrical resistance reading. Temperature scale can be adjusted to use either °F or °C scales. To use, bury sensor to desired depth, connect alligator clips located on meter to the sensor, and view results on digital display. This portable handheld unit uses sound waves to measure the distance from the top of the well to the water level, eliminating the need to lower anything into the well. Unlike standard water level tapes, these acoustic meters are free from well contamination issues, and there is no clean up and nothing to get stuck in the well. Simply place the probe into a well cap opening and turn the unit on. Within seconds, the unit will display the static water level measurement. Will work on crooked, straight, or coiled pipes with up to a 90% blockage.
