Tree monitoring with seismic-sensorREMOTE VIBROACOUSTIC SURVEILLANCE OF TREES AND WOODEN STRUCTURES AGAINST BORERS
Listening to the trees: We introduce a remotely controlled device that records and wirelessly transmits on a scheduled basis, short recordings of the internal vibrations of a tree to a server.
In short, it contains a piezoelectric transducer (i.e. not a microphone, rather a ‘seismometer’) that turns into recordings the vibrations originating from pests feeding and moving inside the tree (borers).
Two modes of operation: a) listen in situ through earphones, or b) transmit the recordings to the INSECTRONICS server. Customers have free access to the server.
The user can listen remotely to infer the infestation state of the tree with wood-boring insects that feed or move inside the tree. The recordings can be downloaded from the server. It is compact and weatherproof, suitable for functioning in the field.
No need to recharge, it has an embedded solar panel that provides enough power for its low-power electronics.
Included: 2 drill bits, 2 adapters for drill bits that also function as waveguides, 2 independent waveguides, earphones, a device.
We also provide a touch prove so that one does not drill (e.g. for timber evaluation).
Targeted pests: Xylotrechus chinensis, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Red palm weevil), mountain bark beetle, Rhynchophorus palmarum, Aromia bungii (Red necked longicorn), Anoplophora glabripennis (Asian longhorn beetle) and Anoplophora chinensis (Citrus longhorn beetle).

TruPulse® 200L Rangefinder/HypsometerTruPulse 200L Rangefinder/Hypsometer, English/Metric
Affordable and reliable, the TruPulse 200L measures up to 5,740 feet (1,750 meters) without a reflector and offers an accuracy of ±1.6 feet (±0.5 meters) to high-quality targets or ±3 feet (±1 meter) to low-quality targets. Results are shown on the in-scope LCD display. The rangefinder/hypsometer features a built-in inclinometer and provides vertical and horizontal distance measurements as well as slope distance and inclination measurements. The TruPulse 200L features flexible, two- or three-point height routines and two-dimensional Missing Line routine with auto sequencing. Choose from four advanced target modes: Closest (distinguishes near and far objects and identifies the closest target), Farthest (allows you to lock on the farthest target and shoot distant features through brush and foliage), Continuous (provides constant updates while locking on multiple targets), or Filter mode. The rugged housing is IP 54 rated for water- and dust-resistance.
Vertex 5
Vertex 5Vertex 5
Vertex is many foresters’ preferred choice of instrument to perform precision height, angle and distance measurements in the forest. The Vertex 5 can be used in dense vegetation and undergrowth.
Measuring functions
Vertex 5 is developed for measuring tree height, but it is of course possible to measure any preferable height.
The instrument measures the distance and angles then calculates the heights with trigonometry up to 999 meters or 3277 feet, with a resolution of 0.1m (0.1 ft).
Height
- Aim towards the transponder. Press and hold down ON until the sight cross goes out and you get the distance.
- Aim to the height to measure. Press and hold down ON until the sight cross goes out and the measured height is displayed.
- It is also possible to measure only distance or angle, e.g. slope angle
Sample plots
When using the center plot stick with the 360˚ adapter in the center of a sample plot, you can easily measure the distance and check if the trees on the plot are within the correct radius to be measured.
Sample points
When using a prism or similar, there is the BAF function “Basale Area Function” to control the minimum (DBH) that the tree must have to be counted at sample points.
BAF factors: 0.5, 1 to 9 (m2/ha) or 5, 10, 15..to 50 (ft2/acre)
Vertex 5 can be used in dense vegetation and undergrowth
FEATURES:
- Measure Distance up to 30 meters or 100 feet with a resolution of 0,01 m or 0,1 feet even in dense vegetation, and with an accuracy of +-1% or better if calibrated
- Measure Heights up to 999 meters or 3277 feet with a resolution of 0.1m/0.1 ft
- Measure Angles in Degrees 360°, Grads 400° or percent % with a resolution of 0.1°
- 5000 data sets can be stored in the built-in memory and saved as a CSV file
- Bluetooth® 4.0 (BLE) can be used to transfer data wirelessly to devices with Android, iOS, or Windows
- (BAF) Basal Area Function to determine the minimum diameter DBH that a tree most have, on sample point to be counted

Well Sounder 2010 PRO
Well Sounder 2010 PROEno Scientific Well Sounder 2010 PRO
A highly accurate instrument designed for measuring static water level in wells, piezometers, or boreholes. This portable handheld unit uses sound waves to measure the distance from the top of the well to the water level, eliminating the need to lower anything into the well. Unlike standard water level tapes, these acoustic meters are free from well contamination issues, and there is no clean up and nothing to get stuck in the well. Simply place the probe into a well cap opening and turn the unit on. Within seconds, the unit will display the static water level measurement. Will work on crooked, straight, or coiled pipes with up to a 90% blockage. Requires no external equipment for configuration settings and is capable of logging, storing, and downloading 25 million time/date stamped data points. Key features include immediate data capture, auto temperature compensation, calculation of drawdown and recovery rates, real-time clock/calendar to time stamp the log data, USB download, plus it is weather-resistant.
WINGBEAT RECORDER OF FLYING INSECTS
WINGBEAT RECORDER OF FLYING INSECTSWINGBEAT RECORDER OF FLYING INSECTS
WINGBEAT RECORDER OF FLYING INSECTSThe device’s intended use is to automatically record insects’ wingbeating events as they cross the sensor’s probe volume.
It is an optoelectronic device for lab use based on infrared light not visible to human eye. The emitter and the receiver are based on Fresnel lenses. The device senses whatever moves between emitter and receiver, records the light fluctuations due to the casted shadow of the wings and produces an audio snippet in wav format that is stored along with temperature, humidity and a time-stamp of the event. The snippets are stored automatically in its SD card and can be processed with any audio processing program including Matlab and Python. Data can also be automatically uploaded to the Insectronics and retrieved from there.
It has been extensively tested to record the wingbeat of Aphides, Culicoides, fruit flies, bees and mosquitoes. Typically, the sensor is inserted in a BugDorm type insectary cage or in conjunction with a transparent confinement enclosure as seen in the accessories or tethered using a inverted tweezer.
Targeted insects: Any flying insect
