GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM
The DP GPS module and corresponding software application will enable you to position and navigate with your computer caliper, at the same time as you perform your regular fieldwork. When assembled on the DP terminal com-port you will hardly notice this GPS module that is controlled through the DP caliper, operated with and by the caliper battery and that stores data in its memory.
The DP GPS has a 33 channel receiver and supports several different satellite systems such as GPS (US), GLONASS (Russian), Galileo (EU) and GZSS (Japan). The DP GPS also supports correction using SBAS: WAAS (American), EGNOS (European) and MSAS (Japanese) which will improve positioning in difficult terrain. The accuracy reaches up to 2.5 m in open terrain, and algorithms predict satellite positions for up to 3 days using data from the latest configurations for up to a month in the DP GPS.
POSITION THE CENTER OF THE PLOT
Depending on which application you are using in your DP computer caliper, there are different possibilities for your fieldwork. Position sample plots and/or stock points, set coordinates for positions with special nature concern and for individual trees.
Set location for timber stacks alongside roads and improve your overall logistics, or make a track log of stock borders or the entire estate with your caliper and have it calculate the area. Or – why not preload data to your caliper and navigate with the DP II and DP GPS to special areas or individual trees.Versatility is great and possibilities are many!

- Collect measuring data and connect data with positions on sample plots, stand areas, areas with special biotops, individual trees, and roadside timber loads.
- Make a tracking log of borderlines in a plot and have the DP caliper calculate the total area.

BARKTAX – BARK GAUGE
BARKTAX – BARK GAUGEBark thickness and texture vary greatly between different tree species. The bark can be everything from several centimeters thick, to just a fine layer. To perform a measurement of stem diameter over bark can be difficult and can show significantly greater values than of the wood below bark. Borer StarterThe Haglöf Sweden borer starter can be used to improve the drilling process when working with increment borers, and to obtain better quality cores, also in frozen wood and hardwood. The borer starter helps the user to maintain a straight angle when drilling.

CORETAX – INCREMENT HAMMERThe Increment Hammer is a rugged and field adapted tool used to determine tree growth in past few years. With the pointed end inserted in the stem, a small sample can be extracted from the hollow pipe ejector. To quickly read the sample, the Increment Hammer has a graduation up to 5 cm/2″. The hammer is made from durable steel with plastic handle, ejector with brass details and carrying string.
DJOS INCREMENT BORER
DJOS INCREMENT BORERIn 2010, the classic Djos borer brand was incorporated to the Haglöf Sweden increment borer manufacturing. The Djos borer handles are orange and the borer bit has a special back-threading, preferred by many operators when backing out of the tree.

Borers are available from 100 mm or 4” up to 1000 mm or 39”.
For optimal penetration depth, the borer bit should be approximately one half to three quarters of the tree’s diameter.
Core Diameter
Standard core diameters are 4.3 mm or 5.15 mm (0.169” and 0.200”).
10 and 12 mm diameter borers are available in assorted lengths and are mainly used for quantitative analyses where large samples are necessary.
Threading
Borers are available as either 2 or 3-threaed borer bit. 2-threaded borers are recommended for hardwood. 3-threaded borers are the most popular, since they will be easier to work with and engage faster in the wood.
Borer tip
The borer tip with thread has an unique convex arc-shape to easily penetrate and cut the tree fibre.
Coating
The increment borer bits are treated and protected with PTFE-coating which reduces friction and protects against corrosion.
Extractor
The extractors are made of stainless steel and designed to extra easily pull out wooden cores.
Complete increment borer
A complete increment borer includes the handle, a borer bit and an extractor in selected length and model. Borer bits and extractors can be purchased separately.

THREADING
- Haglöf increment borers are 2- or 3 threaded.
- 2-threaded borers are recommended when drilling in hardwood, with a slower penetration in the wood and less friction and stress onto the material.
- 3-threaded borers will penetrate the wood faster and is suitable for most types of wood.

Features

GPS and Mapping

Sample plots

When using a prism or similar, there is the BAF function “Basale Area Function” to control the minimum (DBH) that the tree must have to be counted at sample points.
