ARBOTAX
ARBOTAXTree value at a mouse click
What is the value of a tree? How can damages of partial areas be calculated? These are the questions expert witnesses and courts often have to deal with. The most frequent causes requiring a valuation of trees or wood are damages caused by vehicle collisions, vandalism and unauthorized felling. ARBOTAX™ saves you valuable time and calculates the value of wood and partial damages in a matter of seconds. ARBOTAX™ is regularly updated and adapted to the FLL Guidelines.
Applications
- Tree value and tree damage calculation
- Determination by Koch’s method = FLL wood values 2002
ARBOTOM
ARBOTOMTree Tomography
The ARBOTOM® is a novel impulse tomography unit that enables an inside view of condition of trees and round wood. Hidden decay, invisible cavities and cracks and how large they become visible with ARBOTOM® using sound impulses.
Applications
- Determining the safety of trees
- Measuring the wood quality of trunks and round wood
Properties and advantages
- Precise localization of defects in trees and round wood
- Tree-friendly because virtually non-destructive
- Easy-to-understand tomography presentation of the measured results
- Easy and accurate damage assessment
- Quick evaluation directly on location
- Simple handling, optionally via a miniature PC or a notebook computer
- Two- or three-dimensional measurements of the internal condition of trees and subsequent display, also in case of larger tree diameters
- The weakest zones and the areas with the lowest residual wall thickness of the tree are detected with the help of sensors (typically 6-24).
ArWiLo
ArWiLoWind load analysis
The RINNTECH Arwilo ™ software allows the estimation of the crown area and the load center (this is the focused wind load pressure point in the crown). Therefore it is necessary to capture the geometry of the tree, manual recording of the tree crown, the trunk and the tree height. The wind load of the tree can be calculated from these parameters and serves as a reference for virtually shortened crown. A pruning reduces wind load on the one hand, on the other hand, the torsion load.
DECOM
DECOMThe tool for RESISTOGRAPH® profiles
Using the DECOM™ software, you can get even more out of the profiles of your RESISTOGRAPH® . The profiles can be displayed on the screen or printed as a graphic chart, and can be processed for your reports. Mathematical and statistical routines are available for scientific applications, such as trend adjustments, tree ring detection, etc.
Applications
- Tree check-ups
- Increment analyses
- Quality assessment of forest trees
- Wood analyses
Benefits
- Online recording of RESISTOGRAPH® data
- Graphic representation and post-processing features
- Data analysis
- Manual or automatic tree ring detection
DYNATIM
DYNATIMRecording dynamic behaviour of trees
Wind is by far the dominating mechanical force on trees. Studying the dynamic behaviour of trees helps researchers to understand their mechanical design and conditions of failure. DYNATIM™ is a sensitive system recording even minimal movements of trees – or wooden constructions.
Applications
- Analysis of dynamic behaviour of wood
- Reveals the effect of wind on standing trees and timber constructions
LIGNOSTATION
LIGNOSTATIONPreparation and recording
LIGNOSTATION™ is a compact, high-resolution system for preparing wood surfaces and recording the tree ring parameters and the wood density. LIGNOSTATION™, developed in cooperation with the University of Freiburg, is based on an entirely novel concept.
A precision mill prepares the measuring radii on the wood surface. Then, precise scans are obtained using a high-frequency probe. At the same time, optical scans of the surface can be made and analyzed in comparison with the image. The entire system is computer-controlled and relieves you of a great deal of time-consuming routine tasks. You attach the sample, define the measuring radius on the PC screen, and LIGNOSTATION™ will do the rest, from preparation up to measurement. You can fully concentrate on the scientific evaluation.
Applications
- Dendrochronology
- Density measurement
- Dendroecology
- Dendroclimatology
- Forestry
- Geography
Benefits
- Direct high-frequency scanning system
- No development of film required
- Automated procedure
- Compact, space-saving system (300 x 100 cm base area/footprint)
- No X-ray emissions
- Moderately priced
LIGNOVISION
LIGNOVISIONSurface scans – tree rings with a mouse click
LIGNOVISION™ automatically detects the tree rings of softwoods and some deciduous/foliage trees, thus it takes care of a great portion of your routine work for you, and saves a lot of time. In addition to the width of the tree rings, early wood and autumn wood are also automatically detected. Most high-resolution scanners or distortion-free digital photographs can be used for data recording.
Where automatic tree ring detection is no longer possible, the tree ring limits can be manually defined, or errors can be edited in an interactive process. Even density variables can be recorded based on X-ray pictures once the gray levels have been calibrated. LIGNOVISION™ stores the data in the TSAP™ format. You can start analyzing your material immediately. In addition to the measured data, surface scans including the measured traces can be stored.
LIGNOVISION™ and LIGNOSTATION™ – a team that can’t be beat (Density scans)
In addition to the image recording qualities, a special version of LIGNOVISION™ is also able to control the LIGNOSTATION™ density scanner. The scanning process is performed in an automatic routine. You simply select the scanning range, and LIGNOVISION™ does the rest. The variables recorded include the tree ring widths, the early wood and autumn wood widths, as well as the maximum and minimum densities.
LINTAB
LINTABPrecision – for every single tree ring
Measuring tree rings requires high precision and a reliable method of measuring. LINTAB™ easily meets these requirements, and is furthermore easy to handle, ergonomic, robust and weatherproof. Both cookies (cross section, disc, disk, stem disc, transverse section) and cores can be measured. Together TSAP™ and LINTAB™ are a strong team for analyzing tree rings.
