A5 HYDROPHONE
A5 HYDROPHONEDESCRIPTION:
The A5 is a new hydrophone from Aquarian Audio that improves upon the bandwidth and sensitivity of the well-established “H” series hydrophones. Its very small size and standard panel-mounting design with low-profile output connector will make it very useful for integrated systems, such as autonomous recording units, autonomous and remote-operated vehicles, and dive camera enclosures. When fitted with the optional weight and longer cables, it will be equally useful for typical deep-water and field recording applications. The compact and rugged sensor design will be especially useful for leak-finding and other service and industrial sensing operations.
The A5 uses a low-profile 3.5mm TRS output plug that is easy to pass through cable glands or penetrators and allows for the option of adding optional accessories. It is designed to connect directly with standard digital recorders that offer plug-in power on a standard mini jack. It can be powered from one leg of phantom power, as used in microphone preamps with XLR input. However, we recommend using the PIP>XLR adapter for lower noise and true low-impedance, balanced output. NOTE: TRRS jacks, typically used for headsets with cell phones and computers, will require an adapter to break out the separate mic and headphone jacks. The A5 will not work directly with AUX or LINE jacks, such as used on marine stereos and powered speakers, as these will not supply plug-in power and do not offer adequate gain.

AS-1 Hydrophone
AS-1 HydrophoneAquarian Scientific
Aquarian Scientific hydrophones are designed for extended frequency response and dynamic range and are intended to be cost-effective measurement tools.
Broadband measurement hydrophone
The AS-1 is designed to provide maximum sensitivity in a small size while also providing a linear response in the bandwidth of the highest-quality commercial digital sound recording interfaces. Response is omnidirectional in the human auditory bandwidth, as well as omnidirectional in the horizontal axis at all frequencies (theoretical). Given these qualities, the AS-1 is well-suited for absolute underwater sound measurements in marine and industrial environments. It can also be used as an omnidirectional reference projector.
Use directly with your scope or DAQ device or use with the PA6 preamp and any digital recorder or sound interface for high-quality, low-cost underwater sound analysis.
Fitted, breathable EVA case included with cable lengths of 20 meters or less (longer cable assemblies will not fit in case and will be bulk shipped in allowable packaging).

Autonomous Systems
Autonomous SystemsAutonomous Hydrophone Systems and Acoustic Tags
Cetacean Research Technology offers two types of autonomous underwater recording instruments. The first type, manufactured by CRT, is the Remote Underwater Digital Acoustic Recorder (RUDAR™) that includes our newest and easiest-to-use member of the family called the DIVEAR™. The second type is the Acoustimetrics Acousonde™, which is a suction cup attached acoustic tag for cetaceans. All of our autonomous underwater recording systems are designed for easy use and have field replaceable batteries.

Cetacean Research™ C305 Hydrophones, shielded versions of the Cetacean Research™ C304XR with a tougher encapsulation, are available for purchase.
The Cetacean Research™ C305 series hydrophones have a directional receive pattern with very wide frequency response for monitoring ultrasonic signals not detectable by competing brands. The connector is an integral part of the hydrophone. Hydrophones are not individually calibrated but calibrated frequency response measurements can be performed on request.

C56 HydrophoneC56 Hydrophone
Cetacean Research™ C56 modular hydrophones are intended to be connected to as many as five other C56 hydrophones (for a total of 6 channels) on a single cable to form an easy-to-use array. They are an inline version of the Cetacean Research™ C55 hydrophone.
These preamplified, cylindrical hydrophones are designed for the detection of infrasonic, audible, and ultrasonic sounds. In addition to typical underwater use, these hydrophones can also be used for the detection of airborne and subterranean sounds and vibrations.
C56 hydrophones include two integral connectors each and are manufactured using superior piezoelectric transducers encapsulated in a very rugged polyurethane. The hydrophones are not individually calibrated but calibrated frequency response measurements can be performed on request.
C57 Hydrophones

Our new C57 hydrophones are in production and they sound fantastic!
The Cetacean Research™ C57 hydrophone series is an extra rugged version of our very popular C55 hydrophone; with a shape that allows it to be towed behind a boat with less flow noise. The C57 utilizes a slightly softer polyurethane encapsulation material than the C55, which results in even better underwater acoustic performance.
