SPIEGEL RELASKOP:

The Spiegel-Relaskop is mainly used to record the base area with the help of the “angle count sample”. This optical sampling procedure enables a quick determination of the circular area density in forests by simple counting. In this way, the forest can be optimized for forest management or the results can be used for investigations. Heights, distances, trunk diameters and slopes can also be measured optically. The inclination is automatically corrected for all measurements by the built-in drum pendulum. The mirror relascope is available in four different versions, which differ in the built-in scales. The optimal scale is chosen depending on the environment and the nature of the forest.

SCALES:

While the opto-mechanical function is the same for all Spiegel-Relascopes, they come in four different scales depending on the focus of use. A detailed comparison of the individual scales is here to find.

MS – Metric Standard, is particularly suitable for forest conditions in temperate climates with tree diameters of up to 0.8 m and for areas in which tree height measurements are carried out from standard distances of 15, 20, 25 or 30 m.

WS – broad scale, also known as the jungle scale, was developed as a special scale for measuring large tree cross-sections at different heights. This scale is also suitable for simple surveying and routing work and for performing angle counting tests with large counting factors.

CP – Metric CP, combines the functions of metric standard and broad scale and can be used as a universal instrument. Measurements can be made from any suitable distance with various counting factors as well as precision measurements. It also has a CP correction scale to find the horizontal distance.

AS – American scale, has functions analogous to Metric Standard, but measurements are made in American dimensions (feet and inches).
